San Bernardino punk riot

A punk rock festival titled "The British Invasion 2k6" was shut down early due to the stabbing of a concert-goer.

A big day for the southern California punk scene is planned for March 4, 2006, with a dual-stage festival in San Bernardino, in the heart of the Inland Empire. The concert will feature 22 bands, mostly from the U.K.

In an audience of 1500, half of whom are Hispanic, a pair of neo-Nazi skinheads appear, acting obnoxious and aggressively. The crowd chants “Fuck White Power” and somebody attacks one of the skinheads with a knife, gashing him in the neck.

The plug is pulled on Total Chaos, the band on stage, as total chaos erupts inside and outside the venue. 200 riot police descend on the event, deploying tear gas as trash missiles fill the air. Dumpsters and cars are set on fire, and local store fronts are smashed. Many people, including police, are injured, and a dozen people are arrested.
